Information Overload Leads To Analysis Paralysis
by Jackie Burgmann, creator of “Hot at Home” – The Transformation Solution for People Who Hate The Gym

If you’ve been thinking about giving up the couch potato lifestyle and getting in shape, that’s great news.

And it’s probably about high time, right?

But WAIT.

You’re probably kinda new at this fitness game, I’m assuming.

Are you SO new, in fact, that you don’t quite know where to START? So stumped that you’ve been spending time more time ‘avoiding’ and less time actually ‘starting’?

Are you avoiding starting just because you don’t want to look stupid at the gym?
Information Overload
Or to avoid hurting yourself with improper form?

Or to avoid making no progress because you’re doing all the wrong things?

Are you so stymied that you’ve been spending all your time looking things up and researching every fitness subject known to mankind just to avoid these pitfalls?

Getting as much information as possible?

Listening to everyone who professes to be a ‘fitness guru‘ or ‘nutrition guru‘ or ‘wellness guru‘?

Spending money like mad on resources and books and manuals … and … And … AND … ???

Well STOP!!

Stop ‘starting’ … well stop starting THIS way … because THIS way is no way to start.

It sounds like you’re in a complete state of “Analysis Paralysis” !!

Too much information coming at you from too many directions with too many people telling you too many different and contradictory things is not going to do you any good whatsoever.

What it will MOST likely do is cause you to throw up your hands in frustration and confusion and make you walk away from the whole thing before even really GETTING started for real.

Remember: not everyone out there handing out information is a reliable source of information. Anyone who knows how to throw up a website can throw out any information they want and call it ‘health and fitness advice’.
Analysis Paralysis
And spending all your time sorting through all this misinformation just searching for the ‘golden nugget’ means you may never pick up a dumbbell or hit the running path before you just give up in sheer disgust feeling down on yourself and like the biggest dumbbell of them all.

So stop what you’re doing. Get smarter about it by NOT over-researching.

You might even want to take a step back and ask yourself if you aren’t actually just procrastinating, looking for ways to NOT have to get on with the actual process of getting in shape, which is WORK.

Some people will do anything to get out of work. Even work at researching how to do the work, instead of actually doing the work! Ask yourself if that might not describe YOU!

There is no easy fix, my friend.

The only way to get what you want is to work for it. Not read about it. WORK for it.

The very best thing you can do to get started is pick the ONE thing you want MOST to accomplish and make that your SINGULAR goal.

Want to lose weight? Never mind building a body of solid steel first, concentrate on getting that fat off first.

And then just TAKE that first small step. I’m not saying to read that first book, I’m saying take the first step of ACTION. Just START.

The road to success can only be traveled by taking that first step, right?

The fastest way to get the information you need about how to accomplish the goals YOU have is to talk to a professional. Make an appointment with a personal trainer for a consultation and to talk about what your best course of action for realizing YOUR personal biggest goal is.

Then take their advice.

Go do what they tell you it takes, because that’s what they’re there for. It’s their JOB to give you the RIGHT advice to make your fitness goals a reality.

If you can afford to, continue to work with your trainer. If they’re good a their job (and they should be), they’ll help you get to your goals the best way possible.

Or, if you can’t afford a personal trainer, get your hands on a highly recommended workout program that promises to deliver the result you’re after and WORK the program. Stop Information Overload

Don’t just try it a week then ditch it and head back into research-mode.

A fit body is not built overnight.

Stick with it and give it a chance to deliver on the promises it’s made.

Stop being a self-imposed victim of “Analysis Paralysis” admit that you might actually just be procrastinating, and (like Nike says) “Just DO It”.
